SAP INTEGRATION IN STATE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

A (southern) State Department of Finance and Administration, is implementing SAP’s Human Capital Management (HCM) / Payroll, Procurement and Financial systems. The implementation will bring change to approximately 35,000 State employees in more than 120 agencies. New systems, tools, and processes will impact business practice, agency policies and procedures, and how people perform, and think about, their work.

An Organizational Change Management (OCM) team was created to ensure individual change management and organizational change management efforts were integrated to realize the full benefits of the implementation. As a member of the OCM team, a Kibo Solutions Resource worked with State and SAP professionals applying methodology, processes, tools, and techniques necessary to support and guide the State’s leadership and end users through the change management process.

OCM tasks and activities that the Kibo Solutions Resource was able to contribute to, and that were integrated into the overall project plan, included:

  • Change management strategy
  • Change management team structure and roles
  • Change Agent Network
  • Stakeholder analysis and management
  • Organizational Impact Assessment
  • Role mapping
  • Communications strategy
  • Training plan
  • Coaching

SAP SOFTWARE UPGRADE

The SAP software upgrade is an initiative that will strengthen a major international watch manufacturer’s foundations by redesigning their SAP Roles and maintaining them perpetually. As a result of this redesign, end-users access to SAP will be limited to the transactions that they need to do their jobs. The watch manufacturer is implementing SAP’s Governance Risk Compliance Access Control and Identification Management (IdM) processes. The OCM team’s purpose is to help individuals impacted by the change. This is done primarily through communication, instructor-led training, web-based training sessions, and job aids.
